After a very successful family reunion, Paul,
Joanne, Chris, Jeni, Ethan, Ryan, and Justin
had left to return home. Those who were
still here continued to spend time together.
After they left, George and I were talking with
Craig and Tracy and the subject of family
traditions came up. Soon we were reminiscing
about one of our favorite traditions, George's
famous cinnamon rolls. We raved to Tracy
about how delicious they are. She wanted
some. George said he would cook breakfast
for those of us who were still here and it would
feature his cinnamon rolls.
We set the date for the following Wednesday.
George did all of the shopping on Monday, and
Tuesday evening he made his cinnamon rolls.
My job was to clean up as he prepared and baked
them, because as you know, every chef needs a
good cleaner upper. I can also report that when
they were baked and had cooled for a while, I
made the glaze and applied it to each one of them.
Craig, Tracy, Josh, Cameron, and Chasity, Rhonda,
Brinton, his girl friend Allison, and her adorable little
girl, Presley, Jenna and our cute and funny little pistol,
Montana, joined George and I for a great breakfast.
We missed Cote, Brexton, and Nixin, who were
with their mom, Trey couldn't be absent from the
Police Academy but since it was his birthday, we
sent a pan of cinnamon rolls home for him. Steve
had a prior engagement booked and Miranda had to
work, but she and her boyfriend, Ryan, came by
later so he could have some cinnamon rolls.
Breakfast was typical of one of George's fantastic
meals. He served eggs, scrambled or fried to
order, potato breakfast casserole, bacon, and
biscuits. It came with a variety of condiments;
honey, jam, salsa, catsup, mustard pickle
(Mom' recipe) and a choice of several beverages,
consisting of milk, passion fruit or orange juice,
plain or chocolate milk.
And, of course, the reason for the breakfast. . . .
lots and lots of cinnamon rolls.
We had a great time. There was lots of laughter,
silly antics, and just good old down home fun.
Isn't family great?
I am including a picture of Justin and Trey taken
when they came by to see us prior to Trey taking
Justin to the airport to catch his flight.

You know that Dad is my favorite cook. Not to take anything away from you Mom as you are a great cook,Dad likes to be more creative than those of us that spend our time cooking "just to get the job done".
That being said,Dad's breakfasts and cinnamon rolls are my very favorite, except maybe his ribs, and twice baked potatoes and cobbler and oh I could go on and on and on! Love the pictures of Miranda ,Ryan,Trey and Justin! It was a fun morning!
